Which Blazer is it?

EPA figures for each version of the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer. Use them to confirm you are looking at the version that was advertised, and as a yardstick on the test drive.

VersionDriveEPA rating

3.6L 6-cylGasAWD, FWD21–22 mpg
ElectricAWD, FWD, RWD303–334 mi range
  • The 2025 Chevrolet Blazer was sold in three versions. Confirm which one this is from the window sticker, the engine cover, or the VIN report before you compare prices.
  • With a full charge, the range estimate on the dash should land near the EPA figure of 303–334 miles. A much lower number on a mild day can mean a worn battery; ask for a battery health report.

Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical8No crashes

Sudden hard braking with no hazard ahead is the most serious pattern. Reports also describe the parking brake engaging while moving, brief unintended surges, and the car shifting into park. Telematics module failures knock out OnStar, navigation, and app remote access, and dealers call it a known issue with a repair backlog and no loaners. Other reports cover infotainment blackouts and flicker, screens cutting out after rain leaks onto the dash, a charge port door that won't open and has no manual release, and distorted microphone audio on calls.

  • Brakes5No crashes

The car brakes hard on its own, both at low speed and in reverse, when no collision is close. One such stop at 10 to 15 mph caused whiplash and back pain, the single injury in this group. Other reports describe a grinding noise on a brand-new vehicle and a loud squeak from the brake pedal area. Replacing the master cylinder did not stop the squeak, and GM called it normal. Owners say GM declines to fix the false braking.

Both reports are about recall 25V433000 for the parking brake. Parts for the repair were not available, and owners say the wait has gone past a reasonable time. One owner stopped driving the car over safety concerns. The other also describes the vehicle shifting while driving, plus a badly installed windshield whose seal came loose on both sides and let rain onto the dashboard.

  • Wipers and visibility3No crashes

In bright sun the dashboard reflects heavily in the windshield. Drivers say this glare makes it hard to see the road at certain times of day. A separate report describes the wipers stopping during rain with no warning light. The washer still sprayed but the blades did not move, and the driver had to pull over. Restarting the car brought the wipers back. Both problems cut forward visibility while driving.

  • Suspension2No crashes

A torn front control arm bushing is the one true suspension failure here. It came with a front tire blowout at about 25 mph, a loss-of-control risk. The other report in this category describes a different problem. The engine quit on the interstate at 2,024 miles and was replaced, an emissions system failure followed, and the windshield had a distracting defect that a replacement barely improved. Two reports are too few to show a clear pattern.

  • Automatic emergency braking2No crashes

The forward collision system brakes on its own and brings the car to an abrupt stop in the middle of the road. One case at about 45 mph and 18,000 miles happened after the parking brake recall repair. A "Front Brake Applied" message appeared, and a sensors-disabled warning had shown up shortly before. Dealers have not found a cause. Another report pairs false braking with front suspension clicking and poor straight-line tracking. The dealer could not repair it and offered a buyback.

In owners' own words

Excerpts from complaints Blazer owners filed with NHTSA, as written. Listen for the same symptoms on your test drive.

Electrical
My windshield is defected with no real time when a replacement can be ordered..the interior lining is not sealed properly which is causing a buckling effect by drivers and passengers visors.. Rain is getting inside and soaking into the dashboard causing the electrical system on screens to blink in and out Finally my brake harness is still on recall and my car has been shifting into park which could cause severe problems if I am on the highway..

Filed with NHTSA, September 2025

Electrical
The motorized charge port door no longer opens. There is no manual operation rendering the vehicle unable to charge. This presents a potential hazardous situation if the error occurred during a road trip where there are greater distances between charging stations and services. GM customer service and OnStar could not resolve the issue when contacted.

Filed with NHTSA, January 2025

Brakes
1. Vehicle has a horrible squeaking sound coming from the brake pedal area. First dealer diagnosed it as the master cylinder needing replacement. Noise did not go away and GM said that it is normal. The noise is not normal and has never been on any other car I have owned. 2. When reversing, the car sometimes abruptly slams on the brakes as if it is avoiding a collision even though no collision is close to happening. GM refuses to fix the problem.

Filed with NHTSA, February 2026

Brakes
At a low speed, between 10 and 15 mph, the forward collision system automatically triggered and brought the car to an immediate stop. While we were lucky that no car was following behind us, the passenger and I experienced significant whiplash and lasting back pain as a result of this. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone, and not been reproduced. The forward collision system flashed (red warning light, alert).

Filed with NHTSA, December 2025

Wipers and visibility
At certain times of day it is nearly impossible to see through the windshield as the glare from the dashboard reflection is very bright. The attached pictures do not really show the extent of the glare.

Filed with NHTSA, August 2025

Wipers and visibility
The visibity in sunlight is dangerously impaired with the reflection of the dashboard on the windshield . Hard to see and really distracting while driving .

Filed with NHTSA, November 2025

Suspension
1).Engine stopped on Interstate hiway with just 2024 miles. Towed to Chevy dealer. New engine installed. Upon return of car emission system failure. 2) Car delivered with defective windshield with major (crackle) throughout very distracting at sunrise/sunset. Replacement not much better.

Filed with NHTSA, April 2025

Suspension
Driving home about 25 mph, front passenger tire blew. Put donut spare on,. Took to Dealer next morning. front control arm bushing torn out of control. This is dangerous and should not have happened.
