Which Cayenne is it?
EPA figures for each version of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne. Use them to confirm you are looking at the version that was advertised, and as a yardstick on the test drive.
| Version | Drive | EPA rating |
|---|---|---|
| 3.0L 6-cyl | AWD | 19 mpg |
| 4.0L 8-cyl | AWD | 17 mpg |
- The 2024 Porsche Cayenne was sold in two versions. Confirm which one this is from the window sticker, the engine cover, or the VIN report before you compare prices.
- Reset the trip computer at the start of the drive. A Cayenne that averages well under the EPA 17 mpg combined on a mixed route may have an engine or tire problem.

Exterior lights2No crashes
Night lighting is too weak for drivers to see clearly. Both complaints describe it. On the Coupe, the reverse lights are extremely dim, so backing up in dark, narrow, tree-lined spaces becomes slow and hard. Low beams on cars with LED HD Matrix headlights are said to light only 30 to 40 feet ahead, even when aimed to specification. That leaves little warning for deer or other hazards. Dealers call the dim reverse lights working as designed, and no fix is reported. Poor visibility at night raises the risk of a collision.
In owners' own words
Excerpts from complaints Cayenne owners filed with NHTSA, as written. Listen for the same symptoms on your test drive.
My 2024 Cayenne is outfitted with the LED HD Matrix headlights. The low beam lights "when adjusted to specifications" only project 30-40ft down the road. This is very dangerous not being able to see adequately in front of the car especially where I live which have many deer. I'm told this is partially because the US does not allow full HD Matrix functionality. Porsche should not sell vehicle which do not function properly in the USA>
