Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical8No crashes

A "service charging system" warning keeps appearing, saying the vehicle may stall because the battery is not charging. Reports also describe a flickering battery light, dimming lights and a brief loss of power and steering. Dealers reportedly call it a known issue but have no fix. The rear backup camera glitches in reverse and then stays dark, and replacement cameras are on back order. Other reports cite Bluetooth dropouts, high-pitched static on phone calls, and lights cutting out while driving.

  • Transmission6No crashes

Transmission trouble shows up on nearly new cars. Reported symptoms include jumpy acceleration, refusing to speed up, locking up and leaking fluid. In other cases the engine races without engaging on the 2nd to 3rd gear shift, or speed stays capped near 20 mph. Another report describes a delayed, violent slam on a cold-start shift from Reverse to Drive that lurches the car forward with the brake pressed. A stall while driving needed a tow. Losing power or lurching in traffic carries real crash risk.

In owners' own words

Excerpts from complaints Trailblazer owners filed with NHTSA, as written. Listen for the same symptoms on your test drive.

Electrical
Rear camera stoped working. I read 2022 to 2024 had recalls on internet. Ours is 2025. Been to dealer they ordered new camera under warranty. But there on back order. They said they would call us when it came in. That’s the story.

Filed with NHTSA, April 2026

Electrical
My car along with multiple other cars like mine are having issues with the back up camera not working. I have to take it into a Chevrolet dealer to get it replaced. It is a huge safety concern and a recall needs to be issued.

Filed with NHTSA, February 2026

Transmission
While driving the car stalled and eventually stopped running. The battery was still on, but there was no power to the engine. The car needed to be pushed out of the road and towed to the dealership for work.
