Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2025 Hyundai Venue, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Body and structure2No crashes

The front bumper cracks or comes loose after light contact. Complaints describe thin plastic that splits when it touches a snow and ice pile, and a bumper and fender liner that detach after a low-speed swerve. In those cases the liner clips fail and at least one clip goes missing. A noise from the front can come before the parts fall away. Owners worry that a loose bumper could affect stability at highway speed. Repair costs reported range from $1,000 to $1,800. One of those repairs was not covered by warranty. No mileage pattern appears.

In owners' own words

Body and structure
Bumper is made of very thin plastic and cracked upon a light inpack with protruding snow/ice pile while pulling into driveway. Other cars would have a small dent. Bumper does not give enough protection for real accident. Cost was $1800. Safety concern.

Where the 2025 fits in the Venue's history

Redesigns and mid-cycle updates change what can go wrong.

The 2025 is the first model year of the Venue's second generation (2025 on). First years of a redesign often carry teething problems that Hyundai fixes in later years, so the checks above matter more than usual.

Should you avoid the first year of a redesign? See the 45-car study.
