Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2024 Hyundai Venue, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical7No crashes

The horn stops working, sometimes more than once on the same car. There are 7 complaints, and the reported failures show up around 13,000 to 15,000 miles. Owners also describe the instrument cluster going black or acting erratically. Warning lights flash on and off, the speedometer drops to 0 while driving, and the radio cuts in and out. Other reports mention a drained battery with no dash lights and a false warning that a rear brake light is out. One complaint describes the car losing power and stalling repeatedly in traffic, which nearly caused a collision.

  • Steering2No crashes

Only 2 complaints are filed here, and they describe different problems. One is another dead horn, failing twice in less than a year, with the horn assembly replaced on the repair invoice. The other describes the steering wheel going stiff and the brakes failing at low speed shortly after purchase. The driver had to steer into a curb to stop, which flattened a tire and knocked off a fender. That second report is a serious loss-of-control event, but no other complaint describes the same thing.
