Which NX is it?

  • The 2025 Lexus NX was sold in four versions. Confirm which one this is from the window sticker, the engine cover, or the VIN report before you compare prices.
  • On the hybrid, watch for the car moving off on electric power at low speed and for any hybrid system warning on the dash.
  • Reset the trip computer at the start of the drive. A NX that averages well under the EPA 24 mpg combined on a mixed route may have an engine or tire problem.

Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2025 Lexus NX, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Body and structure2No crashes

Distortion in the front windshield makes the road ahead look wavy and unclear from the driver's seat. Reports say the warped view can cause dizziness and nausea, and one dealer said other 2025 models it checked had the same flaw. Door seals are the other concern. In snow, flakes get in through the door jambs and melt into standing water inside the cabin, starting as early as 3,000 miles. Dealers have said the seals work as designed and have not repaired them.

  • Wheels and tires2No crashes

Rust forms on the lug bolts early, and some reports say all 20 bolts are affected by about 11,407 miles. Dealers say the automaker is still working on a fix. One replacement quote came to $800, with a warning that the rust could come back, and only the same style of bolt is available. Owners worry that badly rusted bolts could be hard to remove, could damage the studs, or could let a wheel work loose.
