  • The 2023 Lexus NX was sold in four versions. Confirm which one this is from the window sticker, the engine cover, or the VIN report before you compare prices.
  • On the hybrid, watch for the car moving off on electric power at low speed and for any hybrid system warning on the dash.
  • Reset the trip computer at the start of the drive. A NX that averages well under the EPA 25 mpg combined on a mixed route may have an engine or tire problem.

Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2023 Lexus NX, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical2No crashes

The car fails to start, and the battery shutting down can lock all the doors. One report describes being trapped inside for 50 to 60 minutes in desert heat until help arrived. The dealer's advice was only to drive the car more often. Another pattern involves water from hand washing getting under the hood into a computer, which causes no-start problems. A dealer added foam trim around the hood as a fix and found the same leak on other cars on its lot.

  • Body and structure2No crashes

The driver's side front wiper lifts off the windshield under the blower dryer in automatic car washes and stays upright until someone lowers it by hand. A dealer found the wiper spring working as designed. Separate complaints describe a buzzing or rattling noise from the headliner around the sunroof, worse on uneven pavement. A technician found part of the headliner near the front dome lights was not properly secured, but the noise continued after the inspection.
