Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2022 Buick Enclave, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Brakes31 crash

Brakes can fail to work right after the car is started. One report traces this to a failed brake booster at 100,000 miles, with no warning light until after the first incident. Grinding brakes are also reported, returning days after the pads were replaced under a GM bulletin, while the dealer waited on instructions from the manufacturer. The one crash report says the front collision system neither warned the driver nor slowed the car in stop-and-go traffic. With only 3 complaints on file, no repeating pattern is visible yet.

  • Electrical2No crashes

The rear hatch opens on its own, and the hatch button works only some of the time. A more serious report describes the headlights and brake lights going dead because of an electrical failure the dealer could not repair. The dealer warned that the fix could cost thousands, and the 36,000-mile, 3-year warranty had already expired. Losing headlights and brake lights is a real safety risk after dark. Only 2 complaints are on file, so the record is thin.

  1. 22V210000AirbagsMar 2022

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Chevrolet Traverse and 2021-2022 Buick Enclave vehicles. The harness connector to the left or right side roof rail air bag may have incompatible electrical terminals, which could prevent the air bags from deploying in a crash.

Risk: Roof rail air bags that do not deploy as intended increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace the harness connector to the roof rail air bags, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 29, 2022. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N212352140.
