Worth adding to your 2025 checks

  • Run the VIN through federal recall records and get proof that every open recall repair is finished, not waiting on parts.
  • Let the car idle, open the driver's door, and confirm it stays running.
  • While reversing, turn in the driver's seat to look back and confirm the car does not stop or shut off.

Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical2No crashes

The car surges forward instead of slowing when the brakes are applied in Drive at about 50 mph. The report describes it as a loss of regenerative braking that lengthens stopping distances and causes near-collisions. Charging and electrical faults are also reported. In another case, a high-voltage battery warning appears, then a "Driving System Malfunction" message and a "Risk of Fire" alert at parking-garage speed. The car is towed, and the dealer does not diagnose or repair it. That happens at roughly 7,000 miles. Only 2 complaints are on file, so no broad pattern shows yet.
