Which EQE is it?

EPA figures for each version of the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE. Use them to confirm you are looking at the version that was advertised, and as a yardstick on the test drive.

VersionDriveEPA rating
ElectricAWD, RWD298–307 mi range
  • With a full charge, the range estimate on the dash should land near the EPA figure of 298–307 miles. A much lower number on a mild day can mean a worn battery; ask for a battery health report.

Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Electrical31 crash

Unexpected movement is the most serious problem reported. A "speed severely restricted" message appears, the accelerator stops responding, and the car then surges in reverse at high speed, causing a crash and an injury. Separately, a warning that the driver camera view is obstructed appears at about 3 miles, and the dealer cannot find the cause. Rodents also chew exposed wiring near the lighting, tire and connector areas. This turns on dashboard warnings and has needed dealer repair more than once.

  • Wheels and tires2No crashes

Tires develop bubbles on the sidewalls, leak air and eventually go flat during normal driving. Both reports involve the factory Pirelli tires on 21 inch wheels, and owners believe the tires cannot support the vehicle's weight. Several tires on the same car can fail in quick succession, with five flats reported within 40 days of ownership. A sudden loss of tire pressure nearly caused a collision, so this is a real loss-of-control risk, not just an inconvenience.
