Why these checks: what owners reported

NHTSA complaints for the 2020 Chrysler 300, grouped by the part owners named. Open a row to read what goes wrong.

  • Airbags42 crashes

Failure to deploy in a serious crash is the gravest pattern. Two of the 4 complaints describe crashes with injuries. One car was rear-ended at over 40 mph and pushed into the car ahead, and the bags did not deploy. Another rolled over, and that report also says the air bags failed. The opposite problem also appears: curtain or driver bags going off in an unoccupied car with no collision, plus a passenger bag found with a hole in it. One unprompted deployment came at 72,000 miles. None of the reports describes a fix.

AirbagsCrash reported
March 24th 2023 @ 1:58 pm I was sitting at a red light behind another car, when I was rear ended @ 40+ mph and pushed in to the car ahead of me. The air bags never deployed after colliding with the car in front of me causing my head to hit the steering wheel and the roof of my car. I was unconscious for 30 seconds.
